A wonderfully characterful Victorian mourning ring, crafted in warm 15ct Gold and embellished with rich black Enamel. Its navette-shaped face is decorated with a geometric woven motif, framing a charming floral cluster of four softly lustrous Pearls around a central rose-cut Diamond.

The contrast between the golden Pearls, subtle antique Diamond sparkle and dramatic black Enamel gives this ring an especially striking presence. Beautifully symbolic and full of period detail, it is a captivating example of Victorian sentimental jewellery.

MEASUREMENTS: Ring band tapers from 7.5mm wide at the front to 2mm wide at the back.
Rose-Cut Diamond measures 1.5mm in diameter.
Pearls measure 3mm in diameter.
WEIGHT: 2.1g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 15ct Gold, Black Enamel, Pearl, Rose-Cut Diamond.

STAMPS: Crown, 18.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Zustand

GOOD: The Pearls display a beautiful soft lustre with excellent surface quality, complementing the bright, lively sparkle of the rose-cut Diamond. The settings remain secure, with light surface wear commensurate with age. The ring has been resized in the past, resulting in slight asymmetry to the points of the woven motif, and a small section of the Enamel detail is absent on one side; this is noticeable only upon close inspection and does not detract from its overall appearance or wearability.
