Glowing with opalescent sheen, this mid-century Vintage Shibayama pendant showcases a delicate fly picked out in iridescent Abalone shell against a luminous Mother-of-Pearl ground. The inlaid shells shimmer from blue-green to golden tones, their fine linework lending a natural-history elegance that feels both curious and refined.

Framed by a smooth Sterling Silver rounded bezel with a fixed tubular bail, it’s a beautifully composed piece with a subtle, modernist simplicity. Stamped 925 to the bail and bearing a carved signature, it’s a charming study in texture and light—perfect layered or worn solo for a quiet statement.

Pendant is 27.5mm wide.
Abalone shell inlays (fly) graduate from 7mm long x 2.5mm wide to 9mm long x 4mm wide.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, Abalone Shell, Mother-of-Pearl.

STAMPS: 925 to bail, carved signature on back.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

EXCELLENT: The Mother-of-Pearl shows light surface wear with a few fine hairline crazes and minor abrasions under magnification; the Abalone inlays and linework remain crisp with only slight wear. The Sterling Silver bezel and bail display light surface scratches and tiny dings from normal wear, with a small solder residue visible at the base of the bail. Well cared for with no obvious later repairs.
