A charming Shibayama Mother-of-Pearl plaque pendant, its pearly ground shimmering with tones of blue, green and warm bronze as tiny inlaid shell “bugs” scuttle across the surface. Each insect is formed from iridescent shell chips with fine incised line work for legs and antennae, all framed by a sleek Sterling Silver bezel and a fixed, soldered bail.

Whimsical yet refined, this studio-made piece captures a natural history aesthetic in miniature. The subtle surface texture and gentle patina give it a soft, lived-in glow, while the artisan signature adds a thoughtful finishing touch. A distinctive Mid-Century Vintage treasure to wear solo or layered for a curated look.
