A rare Georgian treasure, this c.1760 mourning locket pendant pairs a luminous faceted Crystal heart with rich 18ct Gold. Beneath the clear, sparkling Crystal lies a meticulously plaited lock of rare blonde hair, a tender token of remembrance framed by an elegant, minimalist Gold bezel and finished with a refined bail—classic, timeless, and deeply romantic.

The locket has been soldered shut, so it functions as a pendant rather than an opening locket; the plaited hair is not removable. Poised and wearable, it’s a beautiful piece of Georgian sentiment that adds a whisper of history and grace to every ensemble.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Zustand

VERY GOOD: The faceted Crystal is bright with light age-related surface wear. The 18ct Gold frame and settings are secure with gentle patina; the top of the bail shows some wear. The locket is soldered shut and functions as a pendant (the plaited blonde hair is not removable), and overall the piece has been well cared for.
