Rows of tiny raised dots and fine borders dress the broad, rounded links of this Georgian Pinchbeck chain. Their curved surfaces alternate with open circular spaces, creating a repeating pattern that looks almost bead-like from one angle and distinctly linked from another. The warm golden tone is particularly effective against the darker detail between the raised decorations.

The ornate barrel clasp is a focal point in its own right, with narrow ridged bands, a smooth central section and small flower-like clusters around its ends. Plain connecting rings separate it from the richly worked chain. Dated circa 1790-1800, this is a substantial long chain at 50.5g, with enough detail in its links and clasp to reward a closer look without a pendant.

EXCELLENT: The raised dots and fine borders remain distinct across the links, with darker patina in their recesses and along the inner surfaces. The barrel clasp retains its ridged bands and flower-like details. Fine surface marks can be seen on the smoother connecting rings and central clasp band.
