Sweeping whiplash scrolls, a painterly pink rose and a vivid guilloché green ground give this Silver and Enamel slider locket quintessential Art Nouveau allure. The oval medallion is framed by a sky-blue Enamel border and accented with sinuous metalwork, its romantic floral motif glowing with glossy, saturated colour.

Beautifully made with engine-turned guilloché beneath translucent Enamel and areas of hand-painted detailing, the piece balances ornament and elegance with ease. A wonderful decorative jewel to treasure, with the added versatility of a locket interior—there was likely once a mirror inside, now lost, so you can replace it or use the compartment for a tiny keepsake.

MEASUREMENTS: Locket is 58mm long including jump ring.
Locket is 32.5mm wide.
WEIGHT: 24.9g.

MATERIALS: Tests as Sterling Silver, Guilloché Enamel.

STAMPS: 925; Continental Silver stamps to large jump-ring, Maker's mark present, country/provenance unknown.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

Zustand

VERY GOOD: The Enamel is glossy and vibrant with no obvious chips and only light surface wear. The Silver shows gentle scratches and a pleasing patina with neat joins around the bail and jump rings. The interior mirror is no longer present, but the piece is solid and well-preserved overall.
