A glowing berry-red Garnet brings a vivid touch of colour to this Georgian mourning ring. Glossy black French Jet surrounds its centre and continues onto the shoulders in little three-stone clusters, giving the ring a beautifully balanced floral outline.

The fluted Gold shoulders are an elegant finishing touch, while the enclosed reverse carries a personal memorial inscription. It is a poignant detail to discover beneath such a striking cluster, and gives this small jewel an interest that goes far beyond its lovely colour contrast.

Ring band measures 3mm wide.
French Jet graduates from 2mm to 3.5mm in diameter.
Central Garnet measures 4.5mm long, 5mm wide and 4mm deep.
WEIGHT: 2.5g

MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold, with French Jet.

GEMSTONES: Garnet cabochon.

STAMPS: Memorial engraving: Rob Hooper, ob 16 June 1826 at 50.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.

VERY GOOD: A beautiful mourning ring with a wonderfully bright berry-coloured Garnet. A previous resize is visible at the back of the band. Overall, a lovely Georgian piece in very good condition.
