Beschreibung

This Georgian ring centres a rich red Flat-Cut Garnet between openwork 18ct Gold details, with leaf-like forms and tiny flourishes leading the eye towards the stone.

Even the underside of the setting is beautifully shaped, with a fluted back that rewards a closer look. Dating to around 1780, this is a small ring with a wealth of character, lovely to wear as a single splash of Garnet colour.

MEASUREMENTS: Garnet measures 6mm long × 7.5mm wide.
Band tapers from 5.5mm wide at the shoulders to 1.5mm wide at the back.
WEIGHT: 2.1g.

MATERIALS: 18ct Gold.

GEMSTONES: Flat-Cut Garnet (approx. 0.85ct).

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

VERY GOOD: The ring has a beautiful combination of rich Garnet colour and ornate Gold detail. There is evidence of a previous resize, along with patina to the Gold band. A charming Georgian ring in very good condition.
