A delicate late-19th-century French navette flower cluster ring, crafted in 18ct Gold and set with rich Perpignan Garnets. A marquise-shaped centre is framed by six round garnets in individual collet settings, forming a charming petite bloom that glows deep red to purplish-red against the warm Gold. Ribbed shoulders and the hand-worked character of the bezels lend wonderful antique allure.

Stamped with the French owl import mark to the outer band, this petite cluster has that quintessential Victorian elegance: closed collets, intimate proportions and a softly time-worn patina. Beautiful worn alone or stacked, it arrives boxed with a rare Horseshoe ring box for an extra-special touch.

MEASUREMENTS: Ring head is 14.5mm long x 9mm wide.
Central navette-shaped Garnet is 6.5mm long x 2.5mm deep.
6 x Garnets are 3mm in diameter x 3mm deep.
Band is 1.5mm wide at the back.
Box is 46mm long x 37.5mm wide x 35mm deep.
WEIGHT: 1.6g.

MATERIALS: Tests as 18ct Gold, Perpignan Garnets.

STAMPS: French owl import mark to the outer band.

HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made before 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

Zustand

VERY GOOD: Garnets show light facet abrasion with a few tiny nicks under magnification; all stones are present and securely set. The hand-made collet settings and shank display surface wear and a gentle patina, with a small amount of warping to the band commensurate with age and no obvious later repairs noted. The accompanying horseshoe ring box shows age-related wear.
