Substantial Silver curb links give this Victorian Albertina chain a bold, beautifully tactile character. The smooth curves lead to a dangling T-bar, whose clean horizontal line makes a striking focal point against the closely linked chain.

At 16.5 inches long and 53.5g, it has a satisfying presence around the neckline. A dog clip and the little connecting rings add the practical detail that makes antique chain jewellery so appealing. Wear it on its own with an open collar to enjoy the contrast between bright Silver and the darker patina tucked into the links.

MATERIALS: Tests as Silver.

HALLMARKS: Lion passant marks on the links; lion passant and date letter b, recorded as 1897, on the dog clip. The T-bar hallmarks are worn and partly obscured.

VERY GOOD: The Silver links retain a bright sheen on their raised surfaces. Patina and wear are visible on the links and dog clip, and some hallmarks are worn. The T-bar keeps its smooth, clearly defined shape.
