A captivating Georgian cluster ring dated c.1815, rendered in warm 9ct Gold with a luscious domed Amethyst cabochon at its heart, encircled by a glossy halo of French Jet. The cabochon’s low bezel and the surrounding scalloped collets create a richly textured, hand-finished look that sits beautifully on the finger.

Closed-backed settings, a beaded bezel edge and the intimate engraved inscription “C Stobart, on 10 Aug 1815” speak to the ring’s early 19th-century sentiment and craftsmanship. Elegant, evocative and wearable, the approx. 0.65ct Amethyst glows with regal purple tones, made moodier and more dramatic by the inky French Jet surround.

Condition

EXCELLENT: The Amethyst cabochon is secure with light surface wear visible under magnification; the French Jet accents are present and well-set with only minor age-appropriate nicks to some facets. The 9ct Gold setting and shank show gentle surface wear and a pleasing antique patina, with all components sound and ready to wear. No evidence of later resizing or structural repair observed. The foil is luminous and brightens the Amethyst beautifully.
